Please keep in mind you will need to drive from one location to the next for each activity so this tour is not suitable for anyone arriving via uber or taxi. If you do not have your own vehicle please look at tours with transportation included.
The color of the river can change quickly based on the weather at the volcano, even if it is sunny here the water can be affected. We can never guarantee the color of the water because it is a part of nature.
Rincon de la Vieja Tubing
Join us for an exciting river tubing adventure on a narrow, fast-moving river with 4km (2.5 miles) of Class I, II and III rapids! Feel the rush as you bounce and splash through twists and turns with our specially-designed individual rafts that include handles and protective bottoms. With our expert guides, you can rest assured that safety and enjoyment are guaranteed throughout the entire experience and this will be the highlight of your trip in Costa Rica.
Distance: 4km or 2.5 miles
Duration: 1-1.5 hours

Lunch
Buffet lunch at la Hacienda Restaurant. There will be many options from local to international dishes to satisfy all tastes.
Please keep in mind that during the low season of days with few visitors you will order from a la carte menu.
Rio Negro Hot Springs
Rio Negro Hot Springs and Mud Bath are hot springs naturally headed by the geothermal activity of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. They are known for having mineral rich water with amazing benefits to your body. Rio Negro Hot Springs includes 10 thermal pools, a volcanic mud bath, hanging bridges, a waterfall hike with 4 small waterfalls and riverbank access.Set off on an exhilarating hike through the lush forest to discover the one of a kind La Leona Waterfall. Along the way, walk through unique rock formations, hike through river crossings, climb small ladders and rocks and finally swim into the canyon where La Leona Waterfall is hidden. Once you reach La Leona Waterfall you can swim in the pools below the waterfall. This unforgettable experience is not to be missed!

Duration of Both Activities
The total duration of both activities is 5-5.5 hours
- White Water River Tubing: 1-1.5 hours total
- Lunch: 1 hour
- Rio Negro Hot Springs: about 2-2.5 hours

- The tour begins at our office. To ensure a tour guide is available upon your arrival, please make a reservation in advance.

- Free parking is available on-site.
- The parking lot is monitored during all operating hours, so you can securely leave your belongings and luggage in your car if needed.

- A towel is provided at the hot springs

- Upon arrival, proceed to reception to check in.
- You will start by filling out a waiver.
- You can also request a locker to store your belongings during the tour.
- Receive a briefing on the order of activities for the day and what to bring with you for tubing.
- After check-in, you will be introduced to your tour guide.
- Your guide will provide a life jacket (life jackets are mandatory for all tour participants).
- You will have access to our bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers
- You will be driven in the company vehicle to the start of the river tubing trail.
- After that activity you will be picked back up and taken to the office.
- You will then take your own vehicle to lunch and hot springs about 15 minutes down the road.
- You will then depart from the hot springs in your own vehicle.
