When booking this tour keep in mind you’re booking a group tour with other people in it.
There can be up to 20 people per tour group, everyone with different nationalities and cultures, please be respectful and friendly with everyone in the group.
If you would like a more personalized and customized experience please look at the private tours. Private tours are best for small children, individuals who may need extra assistance from the tour guide, or anyone who wants a personalized experience.
The color of the river can change quickly based on the weather at the volcano, even if it is sunny here the water can be affected. We can never guarantee the color of the water because it is a part of nature.

Rincon de la Vieja Tubing
Join us for an exciting river tubing adventure on a narrow, fast-moving river with 4km (2.5 miles) of Class I, II and III rapids! Feel the rush as you bounce and splash through twists and turns with our specially-designed individual rafts that include handles and protective bottoms. With our expert guides, you can rest assured that safety and enjoyment are guaranteed throughout the entire experience and this will be the highlight of your trip in Costa Rica.

Our Location
Tour Details
The total duration of Rincon de la Vieja Tubing is about 1-1.5 hours.
Please keep in mind that the duration of the tour can vary based on how many people are in the group, and the current size of the rapids.
- The tour begins at our office. To ensure a tour guide is available upon your arrival, please make a reservation in advance.

- A 4-wheel drive vehicle is not required to reach our office safely.
- Free parking is available on-site.
- The parking lot is monitored during all operating hours, so you can securely leave your belongings and luggage in your car if needed.

- Life jackets are mandatory for everybody (no exceptions)
- Tour Guides
- All necessary equipment for tubing
- Closed toe shoes (no flip flops )
- (Keens/Chacos are okay to wear)
- Shoes with a good grip

- Upon arrival, proceed to reception to check in.
- You will start by filling out a waiver.
- You can also request a locker to store your belongings during the tour.
- Receive a briefing on river tubing, and what to bring with you.
- After check-in, you will be introduced to your tour guide.
- Your guide will provide a dry bag and a life jacket (life jackets are mandatory for all tour participants).
- You will have access to our bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers
- You will be driven in the company vehicle to the trail head for tubing (about 5 minutes).
- After tubing concludes you will be picked back up and taken to the office.
- During the tubing tour, you will go through the rapids one after the other with the assistance of your tour guides.
- Once you are done with both tours you will be dropped back off at the office. There you can change and shower.
