The minimum age for the group tour tour is 6 years old (children ages 4-6 must do a private tour); This allows them to get extra assistance from the guide and go at a slower pace.
When booking this tour keep in mind you’re booking a group tour with other people in it.
There can be up to 20 people per tour group, everyone with different nationalities and cultures, please be respectful and friendly with everyone in the group.
If you would like a more personalized and customized experience please look at the private tours. The color of the river can change quickly based on the weather at the volcano, even if it is sunny here the water can be affected. We can never guarantee the color of the water because it is a part of nature.


La Leona Waterfall
Set off on an exhilarating hike through the lush forest to discover the one of a kind La Leona Waterfall. Along the way, walk through unique rock formations, hike through river crossings, climb small ladders and rocks and finally swim into the canyon where La Leona Waterfall is hidden. Once you reach La Leona Waterfall you can swim in the pools below the waterfall. This unforgettable experience is not to be missed!

The total duration of La Leona Waterfall is about 2-3 hours
Please keep in mind that the duration of the tour can vary based on the pace of your group and how many people are at the waterfall.
- The tour begins at our office. To ensure a tour guide is available upon your arrival, please make a reservation in advance.

- A 4-wheel drive vehicle is not required to reach our office safely.
- Free parking is available on-site.
- The parking lot is monitored during all operating hours, so you can securely leave your belongings and luggage in your car if needed.

- Upon arrival, proceed to reception to check in.
- You will start by filling out a waiver.
- You can also request a locker to store your belongings during the tour.
- Receive a briefing on the hike and what to bring with you.
- After check-in, you will be introduced to your tour guide.
- Your guide will provide a dry bag and a life jacket (life jackets are mandatory for all tour participants).
- You will have access to our bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers
- You will be driven in the company vehicle to the start of the trail (about 5 minutes).
- After the tour you will be picked back up and taken to the office.
- You will all hike together to the waterfall with the assistance of your guide, you will then have time to swim in the waterfall and take photos.
- Once you are done with the tour you will be dropped back off at the office. There you can change and shower.
